THE RACE
 
General Description
Starting in Ruhpolding, Germany, the whole Transalpine circus is travelling through Austria to Sexten / Italy. In eight stages, all participating pairs will once again experience a scenically outstanding route. The GORE-TEX® TRANSALPINE-RUN 2012 will be a challenge for body and soul again and like all the years before, this event is made for ambitious trail and triathlon runners, Nordic walkers as well as marathon and mountain runners. .

Start times
Normally start time is at 7:00 or 8:00 a.m.

Starting formation
Starting formation must be assumed 45 minutes before prior to the official start time, i.e. normally from 6.15 or 7.15 a.m.

Hotel bags
Participants must hand in their bag at the front desk of the hotel by the agreed time because all luggages will be collected and brought by shuttle to the luggage truck. Participants are jointly responsible that their bag gets to the luggage truck in time.

Camp bags
Analog to participants who sleep in the hotels, but the trucks are placed directly at the camps.


Finish and remainder of the day

Finishing time
Participants normally start arriving at the finish from 1.00 p.m.
The finish normally closes at 6.00 p.m., under certain circumstances (e.g. bad weather) the finish will stay open longer.


Control station in the finish area
All locations are offering free food and sport drinks in the finish area.

Expo-/ finish area
In every location in the finish area you can find the expo with our partners who present their novelties.

Results
Constantly updated – 30 minute intervals – always at the Race Office in the finish area starting 15 minutes after the first runner arrives in the finish. Preliminary result lists of a stage will be published during the Pasta Party.

Pasta Party & award ceremony
Normally pasta party starts at 5.30 p.m. for all participants, at 7 p.m. the replacement person of the location will welcome you, 7.30 p.m. award ceremony of the best runners of the day, pictures and video with awesome impressions of the day. End is at about 9:30 p.m.
