KEEP ON RUNNNING
Stage towns for the 4th GORE-TEX™ Transalpine-Run are named

Three months ago, the third edition of the GORE-TEX™ Transalpine-Run ended but there is no time for us to put our feet up! The organisation team of the probably hippest running adventure has some hot news for all Transalpine runners who want to lace their jogging shoes sooner rather than later to cross the Alps again: a new ROUTE!
You can look forward to a fantastic experience!

Due to numerous requests of the Transalpine runners and regarding the goal to guarantee more variety, PLAN B has arranged an innovative profile together with VIVALPIN. But this doesn’t mean we won’t see the well-known stages again. In 2009, there will be the same route as in 2007 as we are planning to change the profile every year.

This means for 2008: move on to new towns, views and experiences as well as “Dolomites – we are coming”! The starting signal will be fired traditionally in Germany – more precise in Ruhpolding. From the Bavarian town on, the route leads over the Austrian boarder with destination St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Via Mittersill and Neukirchen am Großvenediger we will enter South Tyrol. Here, Prettau/Ahrntal, Sand in Taufers, biathlon strongehold Antholz and Niederdorf are waiting for all participants before the final marathon leg brings all runners to next year’s finish Sesto.

But this last day offers so much beautiful landscape and magnificent views that everyone should reach the finish with a beaming smile. The village of the three peaks welcomes everyone with the well-deserved finisher party where all Transalpine participants can share their experiences and recall the past week.

We are looking forward to meet you all again and wish you all the best!

Excerpt from a report about the GORE-TEX™ Transalpine-Run in the British Ultra-Fit Magazine:
...FORTUNE FAVOURED THE BRAVE
Good weather, lasting most of race week,  supported the heroic efforts and afforded mind-blowing mountain vistas all along.

These experience were only topped at day's end by the hospitality in the eight stage towns that welcomed and hosted the racers during this ultra-trail run. Al I mentioned earlier, this race has a seriously high "wow factor". Every moment was stunning.

If the challenge of 150 miles and 46.000 feet of vertical in 8 days seems daunting, it is but still can be done-even by you!

Dedicated experts have put together great stages that will get pros and amateurs alike into the flow.
Running across the Alps without missing a beat certainly is an accomplishment worth writing home about.
Doing it in a team of two seems even more meaningful. Not just to be on the safe side but because sharing the experiences doubling the pleasure. Bonding is a big part of running, isn't it? Whether you're an (ultra)-trail runner, an ambitious hiker, Nordic walker Fell runner or Hasher - there are plenty of different race categories to sign up for...
