A WARM WELCOME TO NIEDERDORF / VILLA BASSA

Niederdorf / Villa Bassa is situated in one of the most beautiful valleys of South Tyrol - the Italian province in the south part of the Alps. South Tyrol not only geographically unites the North and the South of Europe, but the region also culturally offers an extraordinary mix of Tyrolean tradition and Italian flair. Due to the fact that South Tyrol is an autonomous province of Italy and both German and Italian are recognized official languages, South Tyrol holds a special position in Italy. Further highlights of the region are without any doubt the unique culinary variety and the renowned hospitality that distinguish South Tyrol.

Niederdorf / Villa Bassa is a noble locality in the heart of the east to west running valley of Hochpustertal/Alta Pusteria. The village is situated 1,154 meters above sea level, in the protected surroundings of the mountain range of the famous Dolomites and boasts a particularly healthy climate. Niederdorf is a popular holiday destination during summer as well as in wintertime thanks to its convenient location and the numerous days of sunshine. Nature lovers just like sport enthusiastics are keen on the scenery of the intact nature of the Dolomites, the easy accessible excursion destinations in summer and the proximity to the most beautiful skiing areas in winter.

Niederdorf / Villa Bassa has a proud tradition as a mountain spa resort, as the locality was among the first places to attract tourists in the Pustertal/Pusteria valley and many famous personalities have sought relaxation here.

However, also in the world of sports Niederdorf is well-known beyond the borders. Every year in July, the popular Mountain Bike Marathon of “Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike” takes place starting and finishing in Niederdorf. The village has hosted the race for 13 years now and is proud that it has become one of the most famous marathons in Italy with over 3,000 participants.
